BIOGRAPHY
Karen was born in Philadelphia. She attended art classes at Fleischer Art Memorial, Philadelphia College of Art and Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Brooklyn Museum School, and FIT. Karen received a BFA from F.I.T., NYC, where she later worked as a professor in Art and Design. Karen taught traditional and experimental painting and drawing techniques for design as well as digital graphic design software for 25 years
In the 1970’s Karen traveled extensively; gaining a “life experience education” that was invaluable. Her travels had a lasting impact and have been a source of inspiration, imagery and impressions that has influenced her work.
Karen lives and works in the Chelsea section of Manhattan as well as in her studio in rural Pennsylvania. Karen works in a variety of media: oils, acrylics, watercolor, pastels, graphite, print- making, digital art, collage and mixed media works on paper
Karen has exhibited extensively in New York City and is a member of the artist-run gallery NohoM55 in Chelsea and US + U Gallery in Yonkers. Her work is in a number of private and public collections.
